Chris L. Bollinger concentrates in matters relating to intellectual property, technology law, e-commerce, and computer and Internet law.
His work includes:
- Advising clients on e-commerce, technology and electronic contracting issues, including reviewing/auditing client web sites, negotiating website agreements, and counseling on issues relating to social media and online promotions.
- Drafting and negotiating agreements relating to the development, transfer and licensing of hardware and software technology, including software licenses, development agreements and consulting services agreements.
- Counseling clients on complex software-related issues, including issues relating to Software as a Service (SaaS) agreements, cloud computing and web service/ASP arrangements.
- Advising on privacy issues, including compliance with federal and state privacy laws, responding to data breaches and thefts and crafting Web site privacy policies.
- Working with agreements relating to data transfer and procurement of information technology resources, including confidentiality agreements and strategic alliance agreements.
- Drafting and negotiating agreements for the licensing and transfer of patents, copyrights and trademarks, including consumer product license agreements.
- Counseling clients regarding adoption of brands and trademark clearance, and preparing trademark and copyright applications.
- Participating in trade secret, patent, trademark, trade dress and copyright litigation.
- Counseling on issues relating to advertising law, ad clearance, sweepstakes and contests.
- Advising on the intellectual property aspects of mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures, including directing intellectual property due diligence.
- Providing advice on publishing and content issues including negotiating publishing agreements and advising on issues relating to user generated content and screen scraping.

Mr. Bollinger's legal practice and his previous employment as a software engineer have involved, among other things, networking and LAN technology, database forensics, data encryption, reverse engineering and the Internet.
