Thomas White is the director of Schiff Hardin’s trademark prosecution and management practice. In addition to trademarks, his practice is focused on licensing and other intellectual property-related agreements, and the myriad other aspects of intellectual property law that impact business on a daily basis.
Tom shepherds clients through the complex and rapidly evolving landscape of intellectual property, including working with clients on the development, management, and enforcement of their intellectual property portfolios. He also frequently resolves and litigates trademark, copyright and other intellectual property disputes.
Tom frequently advises clients on the intellectual property aspects of corporate transactions, including entity sales and purchase agreements. He structures and negotiates intellectual property transactions, including agreements for brand and technology licenses, software, and consent, development, and distribution agreements.
He also advises clients on advertising and publicity rights and has substantial experience in general commercial litigation and dispute resolution.
Tom is a member of the firm’s Diversity Committee and its Subcommittee on Racial, Ethnic and National Origin and has consistently been named an Illinois Leading Lawyer in Intellectual Property.
