Overview

Brooke litigates complex commercial, intellectual property, and criminal matters. She represents clients in federal and state court and navigates all phases of litigation, including dispositive motions, discovery, trials, and appeals. Brooke has particular experience addressing constitutional issues, such as First Amendment claims and defenses. Brooke understands that litigation is not “one-size-fits-all” and approaches each new problem with the same thoughtful creativity and persistence. She has assisted in successfully resolving cases pre-litigation and on the eve of trial.

Brooke also has significant experience conducting high-profile internal investigations and representing clients in investigations by government agencies. She has participated in several multi-year investigations culminating in lengthy public reports.

  • Experience

    • Assisted in successfully prosecuting claims against Fox Broadcasting Company for the unauthorized use of Muhammad Ali’s identity in a promotional video broadcast during the pregame show before the Super Bowl.
    • Assisted in successfully prosecuting claims against Samsung for the unauthorized use of Pele’s identity in a look-alike ad published in The New York Times and other national publications.
    • Participated in the independent evaluation of Chicago Public School’s policies and procedures for preventing and responding to sexual misconduct following the Chicago Tribune’s “Betrayed” series.
    • Obtained dismissal with prejudice of defamation and other related claims arising out of client’s social media activity.
    • Represented client in SEC investigation regarding United Airlines’ ties to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which concluded without any enforcement action.

        Brooke is committed to providing legal representation to those who cannot afford it. Brooke has represented indigent civil rights plaintiffs in Section 1983 cases, individuals seeking asylum in immigration proceedings, and students facing expulsion in disciplinary proceedings.
