Ryan is a member of the Finance Group, with a focus on corporate and public finance. He brings hands-on experience in conduit bond transactions, including project financings, asset securitizations, and master indenture financings, as well as in governance, audit, and procurement matters.

Before joining Schiff Hardin, Ryan served as deputy general counsel to the Illinois Finance Authority, where he assisted the general counsel in resolving matters relating to the organization’s financing programs and general operations. He advised the agency on tax-exempt conduit bonds, small business participation loans, and loans to local governments to finance the purchase of emergency vehicles.

Ryan’s experiences with his former client have given him insight into considerations that impact financings for public and private borrowers.
