Shawn is a registered patent attorney with a focus on various aspects of patents, including the preparation and prosecution of utility patent applications in the U.S., internationally, and under the Patent Cooperation Treaty. His experience includes consulting clients to develop strategies for acquiring and protecting their intellectual property as well as drafting legal opinions.

Shawn brings more than 10 years of experience as an electrical engineer focusing on hardware design, and in particular RF circuit and passive component design, which helps him quickly and competently learn new technologies to better prepare and prosecute technology-based patent applications.

Prior to joining Schiff, he was also a patent examiner for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Shawn leverages his prior experience and knowledge of the USPTO to more thoughtfully prepare and prosecute U.S. patent applications.
