Construction Practice Group Leader Ken Roberts was quoted on renewed potential for a federal infrastructure bill. Since infrastructure is a priority of both President Trump and the incoming controlling party of the House of Representatives, the construction industry is waiting to see what plans may come out of the divided government.
“Maybe the only thing Congress and Trump could agree on is the need for an infrastructure bill,” Ken said.
However, agreement on how much funding will be provided by the federal government versus the states is less certain.
“There’s not a recipe out there that’s proven, that everybody’s adopted. That’s really the key — it’s to be determined,” Ken said. “It really doesn’t exist in a well-proven model because if it did, I’m telling you, it’d spread like wildfire.”
