Schiff Represents Pillars in Merger to Create New Innovative Organization: Pillars Community Health

Schiff Hardin LLP represented Pillars in its merger with Community Nurse Health Center, effective January 1, 2018.

Pillars is the largest nonprofit provider of mental health and social services in the western and southwestern suburbs of Illinois, offering 30 different programs, including mental health, addictions, domestic and sexual violence and child and family services, including day care and Head Start programs.

Community Nurse Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides medical, psychiatric, behavioral and dental care, as well as health education and eligibility assistance, for low-income residents of the western suburbs of Illinois.

Combined, the newly merged organization is Pillars Community Health, an innovative health and social services agency that provides families a variety of services all at one organization, significantly increasing patient access to care. Pillars Community Health is one of only a few in Illinois to integrate primary medical and dental care with mental health and social services.
