Schiff Hardin is proud to announce that David Pi has been selected by the National Immigrant Justice Center (NJIC) to be honored with a Rising Stars Award. David is one of 11 attorneys chosen by the NIJC for their outstanding generosity in providing high quality pro bono services to clients with complex immigration cases.
“The work I’ve done with NIJC has been profoundly meaningful to me,” David said. “Thanks to NIJC, I’ve had the opportunity to represent extraordinary people who just wanted to live without the fear of persecution because of who they are or what they believe. Their journeys and resilience are an inspiration to me. There has been no better moment in my career as a lawyer than seeing those clients start new lives in our country, full of hope and optimism.”
NIJC provides direct legal services to and advocates for all immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers through policy reform, impact litigation, and public education. Thanks to the support of hundreds of pro bono attorneys from the nation's leading law firms, NIJC provides legal services to more than 10,000 individuals each year and maintains a success rate of 90 percent in obtaining asylum for those fleeing persecution in their home countries.
