Schiff Hardin Earns 100 Percent Score for LGBTQ Workplace Equality for Eight Years in a Row on HRC’s 2018 Corporate Equality Index

News Release |

Schiff Hardin LLP announced today that for the eighth consecutive year, the firm earned a perfect 100 percent on the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation’s 2018 Corporate Equality Index (CEI). Schiff is one of only 609 major businesses nationwide to earn a top score and the distinction of a “Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality.”

“Diversity is the glue that binds us together at Schiff Hardin and makes our culture stick. It is a priority across the firm – in our leadership ranks, recruiting efforts, and with all attorneys and staff members,” said Marci Eisenstein, Schiff Hardin’s managing partner. “We are proud to have earned a top ranking from HRC in recognition of our commitment for the eighth consecutive year.”

“It’s humbling to again receive the highest rating from HRC,” said Clay A. Tillack, chair of the firm’s LGBT Diversity Subcommittee. “One of our significant accomplishments I’m most proud of from the last year is securing a policy change to ensure the firm does not donate to organizations that discriminate based on sexual orientation.”

The HRC’s CEI is a national benchmarking survey and report evaluating various LGBTQ-based corporate policies and practices such as non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner and transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBT community.
