California Chief Justice Presents John S. Worden with Volunteer Award

News Release |

Schiff Hardin LLP is pleased to announce that California Supreme Court Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye, on behalf of the Justice & Diversity Center of the San Francisco Bar Association (JDC), presented partner John S. Worden with the 2015 Volunteer Award. John received the award during the JDC’s Outstanding Volunteer Celebration in San Francisco on March 9, 2016.

Serving the San Francisco community since 1977, the JDC provides pro bono legal services to low-income people and educational programs that foster diversity in the legal profession. Just last year, the JDC assisted over 8,000 clients with legal consultation and representation in all areas of civil law.

“The JDC has provided key services to our community for nearly forty years,” John said. “I am honored by their recognition and look forward to continuing to work shoulder to shoulder to make San Francisco stronger.”

A seasoned trial lawyer, John practices throughout the United States and, in addition to substantial work in California and elsewhere, heads the firm’s Nevada practice. He has tried dozens of cases for plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts and in front of judges, juries and binding arbitration panels. To date, he has won 21 of the last 22 cases he has tried.
