What’s New: Updates to the American Institute of Architects Contract Documents

Partner Michael Hanahan will co-present this online seminar reviewing recent changes made to the form AIA-2017 contract documents and discuss the consequences and effects of those changes. Topics will include:

  • The new B101 and the noteworthy changes to the other design agreements that became effective with the release of the new 2017 forms
  • The standard construction contracts A101, A102, and A103 entered into between owners and contractors, along with the recent changes to the A201 General Conditions
  • The new A101-2017 Exhibit A, Insurance and Bonds document and its new “shopping list” approach to selecting the types of insurance required for your project
  • The new E203-2017 Building Information Modeling and Digital Data Exhibit establishing rights among contracting parties as they relate to BIM and other digital data
  • The new E204-2017 Sustainable Projects Exhibit and the roles and responsibilities of the project participants
  • The new A104 and B104 standard abbreviated forms
  • The short forms, the A105 and B105, often used for residential or other limited scope construction projects
