Schiff Hardin partner Joanne B. Faycurry will participate in the Summer Institute in Taxation’s Introduction to State and Local Taxation conference. Ms. Faycurry and Fred J. Nicely, tax counsel for the Council on State Taxation, will discuss issues such as the equal protection clause, import/export clause, privileges and immunities clauses, and federal pre-emption statuses.
Ms. Faycurry is a member of the firm’s Tax Group and leader of the State and Local Tax Group. She has more than 25 years of experience in a wide range of state and local taxation matters, representing clients in state tax controversy matters and property tax appeals before state tax tribunals, state courts and appellate courts.
The Summer Institute in Taxation is hosted by New York University and takes place July 15-26, 2013, with the Introduction to State and Local Taxation conference taking place July 22-24. The event will be held at The Westin New York at Times Square (270 W. 43rd St., New York, NY 10036). CLE credit is available.
