Four members of Schiff Hardin's Tax Group will participate in a discussion on hot topics in state taxation, with an emphasis on Michigan tax affairs. Partner Joanne B. Faycurry, of counsel Samuel J. McKim, and associates Jackie J. Cook and Ivan H. Golden will speak, along with key representatives from the Michigan Department of Treasury.
Ms. Faycurry has more than 25 years of experience in a wide range of state and local taxation matters. She represents taxpayers in state tax controversy matters and property tax appeals. She has significant trial and appellate experience and has obtained considerable tax refunds and savings for her clients. Ms. Faycurry also assists her clients with tax planning and opinion work
Mr. McKim's extensive tax practice extends more than 45 years and includes all aspects of state and local taxation. He assists clients with tax planning, opinion work, and trial and appellate appeals.
Ms. Cook represents taxpayers in state tax controversy matters and property tax appeals before the Michigan Supreme Court, Michigan Court of Appeals, Michigan Court of Claims, and Michigan Tax Tribunal.
Mr. Golden has experience with a variety of substantive and procedural tax issues including partnership allocations, TEFRA partnership proceedings, and lien and levy issues.
