Private Clients, Trusts and Estates Mid-Level to Senior-Level Associate Attorney

Description: Schiff Hardin LLP is seeking an attorney with four to eight years of trusts & estates experience for our Private Clients, Trusts & Estates Group in our Lake Forest, IL office.  In addition to being licensed and in good standing in Illinois, requirements include:

  • Strong academic record and professional skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Aptitude and attitude for learning new things

This position will be dedicated primarily to an established and vibrant client service team in Lake Forest. The team wishes to welcome a new member to develop skills while working on a robust variety of trust & estate related activity: estate and gift planning, estate and trust administration, business succession planning, premarital planning, estate and gift tax return preparation, charitable planning and charitable entities, corporate elements within estate planning, and more.  The team has a reputation within the firm for being strong mentors and team-builders, and within the estate planning community for being excellent practitioners.  Depending on the overall arrangement, this attorney also could dedicate time to their own clients or to other firm clients if desired.

This position is envisioned to be in our Lake Forest office. We can offer flexibility for this position such as remote days, reduced hours and/or a flexible schedule.

We believe this role will be a good fit for someone who wishes to pursue a very sophisticated law firm practice in a new environment.

The Lake Forest office is home to eight attorneys, and several attorneys from our Chicago and other offices routinely make use of meeting space and guest offices in Lake Forest.  We are located one block from historic Market Square in Lake Forest and only three blocks from the East Lake Forest Metra station with convenient service to Chicago and many towns in between.
