Summary:

Schiff Hardin's Environmental practice group assisted a client, a steel mill operator, with identifying all permitting and regulatory hurdles associated with a move within the city of Chicago. Our client has called Chicago its home for over 100 years, but urban growth and land constraints required it to consider all options when expansion of its plant was needed.

Our attorneys helped the client with its relocation strategy, from permitting and regulatory issues to education and outreach to the community and its political leaders. The Environmental group is currently assisting the client with innovative green building elements, including:
