Summary:

Schiff Hardin represented a developer of senior housing regarding a project that had stalled because of newly discovered environmental conditions that threatened the economic success of the project.

Our attorneys assessed the issues, devised a new strategy and assisted the client in achieving closure from the regulator. Among other things, we identified material mistakes by the environmental consultant overseeing the environmental remediation project, errors which resulted in a significant over-statement of the environmental conditions and projected costs for the environment remediation.
