Schiff Hardin LLP's Stacie Hartman Will Speak at Chicago's Fashion Focus

Stacie R. Hartman, a partner in Schiff Hardin's Litigation and Intellectual Property Groups, will speak at "Whose Design Is It Anyway?" during Chicago's Fashion Focus.  The event is sponsored by the Chicago Fashion Foundation, and will be held on October 14 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Bella Lounge.  Registration is at www.chicagofashionfoundation.org

Ms. Hartman has significant experience litigating intellectual property cases, from successful dismissal of actions through discovery, trial and appeal.  Her trial experience includes acting as second chair in the successful prosecution of claims by Michael Jordan to terminate license agreements for the use of his name in a restaurant and retail store, and acting as first chair in successful defenses in arbitrations before the Chicago Board of Trade and Chicago Mercantile Exchange, as well as participation in patent infringement and trade secret misuse trials. Ms. Hartman manages the patent litigation for Dorel Juvenile Group, Inc. (including its Cosco and Safety 1st divisions) and manages patent litigation for other clients such as Newell Rubbermaid Inc. and its companies (including Levolor, Goody Products Inc., and Irwin Industrial Tool Company).

She has frequently spoken and written about intellectual property issues, including those particularly significant in the fashion industry, most recently at the Accessories Council in New York.
