  Jean L. Bertrand
Jean L. Bertrand, Coordinating Partner of Schiff Hardin's San Francisco office, has been appointed to the Commission on Judicial Nominees Evaluation (JNE Commission) of The State Bar of California.

The JNE Commission evaluates all candidates who are under consideration for a judicial appointment by the governor. It is composed of attorneys and public members who represent a broad cross-section of California's diverse legal profession and general population. Appointed by the State Bar's Board of Governors, the all-volunteer commission cannot nominate or appoint judges; it does, however, thoroughly investigate candidates for judicial appointment while maintaining a code of strict confidentiality.

About Jean Bertrand
Ms. Bertrand practices primarily in the areas of real estate, toxic torts, and commercial litigation. In addition to trial and appellate experience, she has had extensive experience in the administration of complex litigation. She has served as Chair of the State Bar's Committees on Rules and Procedures of Court and Administration of Justice, as well as the Real Property Law Section Executive Committee.
