Schiff Hardin LLP Attorney Byung J. ("BJay") Pak Appointed to 2008-2009 Leadership Position for the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association

Byung J. (BJay) Pak, a partner in Schiff Hardin's Litigation and White Collar Crime and Corporate Compliance groups, was appointed as one of the Co-Chairs of the newly formed Criminal Law Committee of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA). Mr. Pak was appointed on May 17, 2008 and will serve a one-year term. Mr. Pak helped lead the charge in creating the Criminal Law Committee.

NAPABA is the national association of Asian Pacific American (APA) attorneys, judges, law professors, and law students, providing a national network for its members and affiliates. NAPABA advocates for the legal needs and interests of the APA community and represents the interests of over 40,000 attorneys and approximately 55 local APA bar associations, with practice settings ranging from solo practices to large firms, corporations, legal services organizations, non-profit organizations, law schools, and governmental agencies.

About BJay Pak
Mr. Pak focuses on representing individuals and corporate entities in government investigations and prosecutions (both criminal and civil), conducting internal corporate investigations, and advising clients on regulatory compliance matters. Prior to joining Schiff Hardin, Mr. Pak was an Assistant United States Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia, Criminal Division, for nearly six years. He has extensive experience in conducting grand jury investigations and prosecuting complex white collar crimes. Mr. Pak also has experience handling complex civil matters, such as securities fraud, insurance coverage, toxic tort and breach of contract cases.
