Schiff Hardin LLP's Amy M. Rubenstein and Joshua D. Lee Honored for Excellence in Pro Bono and Public Interest Service

Honor presented by the Judges of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the Chicago Chapter of the Federal Bar Association

Amy M. Rubenstein, an associate in Schiff Hardin's Litigation Group, and Joshua D. Lee, an associate in Schiff Hardin's Product Liability Group, were honored for excellence in pro bono and public interest service in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois by the Judges of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the Chicago Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. The Ninth Annual Awards for Excellence in Pro Bono and Public Interest Service took place on May 13 and featured William H. Neukom, President of the American Bar Association, as the Keynote Speaker.

Ms. Rubenstein and Mr. Lee were honored for their work on three cases that challenged the conditions of confinement and mental health treatment provided to individuals civilly committed because they were adjudged to suffer a mental illness, defect or disability.

About Amy M. Rubenstein
Ms. Rubenstein handles a wide range of cases, such as general commercial and corporate disputes, reinsurance, intellectual property and federal constitutional law. She is particularly well versed in discovery, motions, and other trial practice proceedings. Her work also includes discovery proceedings in Canada.

About Joshua D. Lee
Mr. Lee focuses primarily on complex business litigation matters, including product liability, civil conspiracy and toxic tort claims. Mr. Lee also has defended class actions and consumer fraud claims; helped clients seek insurance coverage for products-related occurrences; assisted with matters involving insufficient notice and offsets in liquidation proceedings in the field of reinsurance; and pursued misappropriation of trade secret claims.
