Sherry A. Quirk Named Leader of Schiff Hardin LLP's Energy Group

Schiff Hardin's Executive Committee has named Sherry A. Quirk leader of the firm's Energy Group. Already a major player in the Energy/Federal Energy Regulatory Commission law field nationwide, Schiff Hardin continues to expand this practice that also emphasizes a strong climate control component.

Ms. Quirk joined Schiff Hardin in April 2007. She concentrates in energy law, and her career has included extensive involvement in numerous regulatory, transactional, and legislative issues. She has significant experience in representing Independent System Operators, rural electric cooperatives, and municipal systems before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the courts, the Department of Energy, and the Congress. She is also heavily involved in issues related to the Federal power marketing program. She received her undergraduate degree (A.B., 1976) from Mount Holyoke College and her law degree (J.D., 1982) from Washington College of Law, American University. Ms. Quirk also is a co-founder and vice-chair of First Star, a national organization dedicated to improving life for child victims of abuse and neglect.

Schiff Hardin's Energy Group comprises a core group of 15 attorneys in its Washington, Boston, and Chicago offices, and it draws heavily from the firm's attorneys in such key practice areas as Construction/Project Controls, Environment, Corporate and Securities, Litigation, Finance, and Real Estate, among others.
