Schiff Hardin LLP's Patricia Brown Holmes and Ronald S. Safer will speak at the Law Bulletin Seminars' White Collar Crime/Corporate Governance Conference
April 01, 2008
Schiff Hardin partners, Patricia Brown Holmes, leader of Schiff Hardin's White Collar Crime and Corporate Compliance Group, and Ronald S. Safer, Schiff Hardin's Managing Partner, will speak at the Law Bulletin Seminars' "White Collar Crime/Corporate Governance Conference." They will present a discussion on corporate governance (internal and audit committees) and lessons learned from their involvement in the "Conrad Black" case.
Ms. Holmes and Mr. Safer co-led the defense team for Mark S. Kipnis, a co-defendant in the highly-publicized United States v. Conrad Black, et al. case tried in 2007, which won a not-guilty verdict on eight of the eleven counts and a judgment of acquittal on an additional count, drastically decreasing the exposure of Mr. Kipnis. The team persuaded the Court to sentence Mr. Kipnis to probation on the remaining counts of conviction.
The conference will be held on April 24 at the University Club in Chicago. For additional information, please visit http://www.lawbulletin.com/legal/law-bulletin-seminars/white-collar---april-24 or call (312) 644-6762.
