Janet M. Johnson, a partner in Schiff Hardin’s
Real Estate Group in the Chicago office has been elected President CREW Chicago for 2012 and 2013. This is a singular honor for Ms. Johnson, and it recognizes her many years of active service and volunteer efforts on behalf of that organization.
About CREW Chicago CREW Chicago is a 24-year old professional association for women in the commercial real estate industry in Chicago and is a member organization of CREW Network, which has over 8,000 individual members in 74 Chapters in all major markets in the U.S. and Canada.
CREW Chicago is dedicated to advancing the power and success of women in commercial real estate. Its membership encompasses all professional disciplines involved in commercial real estate, including accounting firms, architectural and design firms, associations and not-for-profits, banks and other financial institutions, construction firms, corporate real estate professionals, engineering firms, governmental entities, law firms, real estate service and brokerage firms and title insurance companies.
CREW Chicago also supports women interested in careers in commercial real estate by offering scholarships for undergraduate or graduate studies, mentoring and educational programs for those women in the Chicago area who are new to the profession or considering a career in commercial real estate. It also financially supports the CREW Foundation scholarships that are given out to undergraduate students studying in undergraduate real estate related fields across the U.S.
Upcoming Chicago CREW activities in 2012 include hosting a February 29 dinner featuring Lori Healey, who is the Executive Director of the Chicago G8 NATO Host Committee for the summits that will be in Chicago in May; as well as hosting the national CREW Network convention in October.
