Debra Patalkis has joined Schiff Hardin LLP as a partner in the Securities and Futures Regulation Group from Drinker, Biddle and Reath LLP in Washington, D.C. where she was a partner. Ms. Patalkis is an experienced securities and capital markets litigator who concentrates her practice in defending investigations and enforcement actions by the Securities and Exchange Commission and self-regulatory organizations, and advising officers, directors and other industry participants on matters of corporate governance and compliance with the securities laws and related statutes. She has led internal investigations on behalf of boards and senior management of corporations, investment advisors and other segments of the securities and finance industry. Ms. Patalkis also has defended complex civil matters in the private sector.
She is a graduate of New York Law School (J.D., magna cum laude, 1985) and Rutgers University (B.A., cum laude, 1981). Ms. Patalkis worked as an Assistant Chief Litigation Counsel in the SEC's Division of Enforcement from 1999 through 2005.
