Michael W. Ott has joined Schiff Hardin LLP as an Associate in the Bankruptcy, Restructuring and Creditors’ Rights Group from Mayer Brown in Chicago.
Michael W. Ott’s practice focuses on the representation of financial institutions and other creditors with counterparties in restructuring and insolvency situations. He is experienced in many aspects of the workout, restructuring and bankruptcy processes, including drafting and negotiating waivers and forbearance agreements, critical "first-day" motions and debtor-in-possession financing arrangements, section 363 sales, and chapter 11 reorganization plans and disclosure statements. He also has experience with complex commercial litigation involving insolvency and fraud issues.
He graduated from Indiana University – Maurer School of Law (J.D., magna cum laude, 2007) and the College of William & Mary (B.A., Mathematics; minor, Computer Science, 2003).
