Renee Cipriano, a partner in the firm’s
Environmental Group, has been named co-chair of Keep Chicago Beautiful. She also received the President’s Lifetime Volunteer Service Award at Keep Chicago Beautiful’s 24
th Annual Vision Awards Luncheon on Tuesday.
“I am truly honored to receive this award. The work for Keep Chicago Beautiful is more than rewarding, and I look forward to my continuing involvement with the organization's impressive president and founder, Joyce Kagan Charmatz, and all of our dedicated board members,” remarked Cipriano.
Ms. Cipriano previously served as vice chairman of Keep Chicago Beautiful and has dedicated years of service to the organization. The President’s Lifetime Volunteer Service Award is bestowed upon individuals who have donated significant volunteer hours to environmental and other important causes. Ms. Cipriano was presented the award on behalf of the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation and includes a message from President Barack Obama that salutes their inspiring record of volunteer service.

About Renee Cipriano Ms. Cipriano has practiced environmental law for over 20 years. Her practice focuses on providing environmental strategic planning and counseling to a number of clients, including the energy industry, with respect to several local and national initiatives. This includes an emphasis on government relations and public law and policy. She has extensive experience handling complex regulatory authorization and permitting matters, local government approvals, local siting matters, public hearings and community outreach, and situational management. She also has overseen complex multidimensional infrastructure projects, brownfields redevelopment projects and energy projects. Previously, Ms. Cipriano was the Director of the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency serving under two separate administrations. She frequently lectures on a variety of environmental topics and was recently appointed to serve on the Task Force for Policy and Coordination for the American Bar Association's Section on Environment, Energy and Resources.
