Allan Horwich, a partner in Schiff Hardin's Securities and Futures Regulation Group, will be on the panel at the Duff & Phelps' Securities Enforcement and Litigation: 2009 Recap and 2010 Predictions seminar. This event will take place in Chicago at Duff & Phelps (311 South Wacker Drive).
2009 brought about significant changes in the areas of securities compliance, enforcement and litigation. Embarrassed by its failures to detect the Madoff, Rothstein and other Ponzi Schemes, as well as the failed prosecution of the former Bear Stearns fund managers, the SEC, CFTC along with the DOJ are taking a more aggressive stance in attacking perceived securities and financial markets compliance failures and fraud. The panel of experts will review the major events of 2009 and provide insight into the perceived changing focus of regulators and prosecutors for 2010. Most importantly, panelists will discuss the new tactics of the key regulators as well as potentially problematic issues in the market such as insider trading and leveraged ETF's.
