We’re also committed to the communities where we live and work. Each year, Schiff Hardin contributes time and financial resources to more than 100 community organizations. Our involvement is wide-ranging. It includes providing pro bono counsel to immigrants to tutoring at risk high school students and serving meals at a homeless shelter.

For more information on our pro bono efforts, visit Citizenship.

  • Community and Bar Involvement

We actively support several diverse bar associations around the country, including the National Bar Association, the South Asian Bar Association of Chicago, the National Asian Pacific Bar Association, the Hispanic National Bar Association, and the Lesbian and Gay Bar Association of Chicago.

Schiff Hardin is also a “leadership signatory” to the Chicago Bar Association’s Alliance for Women Call to Action. That document promotes and enhances leadership opportunities for women attorneys in Chicago. Call to Action goals include increasing the number of women partners, increasing women’s participation on firm committees, and increasing the number of female practice group leaders.

  • Pipeline Initiatives

Schiff Hardin contributes substantial time and financial support to a wide variety of organizations and scholarships that encourage minority and first-generation students to continue their educations and consider becoming lawyers.

We support the following organizations, among others:

    Cabrini Connections

    Chicago Debate Commission

    Chicago Hope Academy

    EduSeed/SisterMentors

IN OUR WORDS

David C. Scott

Partner
We have worked for 17 straight years with Rebuilding Together Metro Chicago. Each year we fix up a home. It’s a great day. Dozens of our lawyers and staff paint, do landscaping, and install cabinets and safety features. This event has one goal that we share: keeping elderly and disabled homeowners 'warm, safe and dry.'
