Our Callback Interview

At Schiff Hardin, we have customized our callback interview process to give law students the chance to really show us who they are — not only as students, but as individuals. And the process works both ways, because we can better show law students who we are as a firm, and as lawyers, mentors and future colleagues.

While our callback interview includes the traditional components that you’ll find at most other law firms — one-on-one interviews and a lunch interview with associates — it also includes two additional components: an interview with a panel of Schiff Hardin attorneys and a short writing exercise.

We have developed a customized interview format because our goal is to hire future Schiff Hardin partners. We are looking for people who have chosen the law as their long-term career path. And we invest in each individual lawyer starting on the first day of his or her career at Schiff Hardin. For these reasons, we want to identify candidates who possess the qualities we associate with long-term success at the firm. We believe that our interview format better aligns with these distinct goals and values.
