Sandra Z. Zayac

Associate

Sandra Z. Zayac concentrates her practice in public finance. She has been involved in numerous public finance transactions as bond counsel, underwriter's counsel, credit enhancer's counsel, issuer's counsel and purchaser's counsel.

Experience

  • Involved in the representation of a county development authority in numerous taxable and tax-exempt bond issues for 501(c)(3) entities, manufacturing facilities and private companies
  • Involved in representation of large commercial banks as letter of credit, underwriter, purchaser and trustee's counsel for various taxable and tax-exempt variable rate bond issues
  • Served as underwriter's counsel for several major commercial banks for the issuance of tax exempt bonds and commercial paper notes
  • Served as bond counsel for large Georgia municipality in new money and refunding transactions
  • Served as bond counsel for new money and refunding revenue anticipation certificates for a large non-profit hospital
  • Represents company as issuer's counsel for various taxable bond issues for medical facilities
  • Served as purchaser's counsel for a government-sponsored enterprise in connection with purchases of multifamily housing revenue bonds throughout the United States
  • Served as bond and company counsel for non-profits for their tax-exempt financings
  • Represents a local residential care authority for the elderly

Pro Bono Activities

Ms. Zayac’s pro bono activities include providing general corporate advice to the DeKalb Library Foundation. She has previously represented a minor child before the Fulton County Juvenile Court for early intervention and education issues, prepared wills and qualified income trusts for low income individuals and worked to secure a Tax Allocation District grant for the Southern Christian Leadership Conference.

Previous Experience

Before attending law school, Ms. Zayac served for three years as a commercial lender and bank officer with Whitney National Bank.
