Jay Williams currently divides his practice between complex civil litigation and the representation of clients in white collar and other criminal defense matters.
His litigation practice is nationwide in scope, involving appearances before local, state and federal courts and agencies across the country, including: Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, Wisconsin and the District of Columbia.
Civil Litigation
Mr. Williams concentrates his practice in:
- Financial institutions and financial services litigation
- Insurance litigation, particularly class action defense
- Financial fraud and securities litigation
- Intellectual property matters, including trade secret, copyright and IP licensing (social gaming) litigation
- Contract and real estate disputes
He also has extensive experience representing numerous individual and business clients, both plaintiffs and defendants, across the country in other types of civil litigation matters at the trial and appellate court levels.
Criminal Defense
Mr. Williams has experience both in criminal appellate representation as well as a variety of other white collar and other criminal defense matters.
In connection with his representation of clients either currently under investigation or who have been charged with, or accused of, criminal or other wrongdoing, Mr. Williams has had significant involvement working directly with the U.S. Attorney's Office and the U.S. Department of Justice, as well as various state and federal agencies and prosecuting authorities throughout the country.
