Adam S. Weiss has extensive experience securing and protecting intellectual property rights for his clients and regularly negotiates and drafts patent, trademark, copyright, trade dress, computer, e-commerce, and Internet agreements, including complex license, assignment, security interest and settlement agreements. Mr. Weiss is licensed by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and counsels clients seeking to adopt new marks, and to secure and enforce rights in their intellectual property. He regularly litigates on behalf of clients with respect to all areas of intellectual property law and has conducted cases before:

- The Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB)
- International Trade Commission (ITC)
- World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)
Mr. Weiss's practice emphasizes clients that manage large national and international trademark portfolios. He regularly works with Fortune 500 companies, including one of the world's largest manufacturers and distributors of household consumer products, one of the world's leading food companies, one of the country's largest health care services providers, and one of the world's largest diversified manufacturer of industrial products and equipment. Mr. Weiss also assists very well known jewelry companies as well as a wide variety of smaller and start up clients.
He has assisted companies as both outside and in-house counsel, providing him with a unique business perspective that contributes to well-rounded and practical advice. Mr. Weiss is experienced in aiding clients with respect to the transfer of their intellectual property portfolios in merger, acquisition, and other corporate transactions.
Mr. Weiss spent four years as an Adjunct Professor at IIT/Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he taught courses on Advanced Legal Research and Drafting in the intellectual property area. He regularly lectures various CLE-credited courses, including "Trademarks: Clearance, Registration and Enforcement of Rights in Brand Indicia," "Practice Before the TTAB: New Rules and the Medinol Fraud Standard," and "Intellectual Property and International Law Issues in Representing a Globally Expanding Company."
