Experience
Ms. Warner has extensive experience assisting clients and colleagues with understanding and complying with their eDiscovery obligations, as well as investigating and litigating matters involving allegations of breach of contract, securities fraud, defamation, trade secret misappropriation, unfair competition, negligence, and violations of federal criminal law, including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). Ms. Warner is an active member of several firm committees, including acting as the chair of the eDiscovery Committee and a founding co-chair of the firm's Parenting Group, and serving in several roles in connection with the firm's Summer Associate Program, including co-chairing the program in 2009.
Some of Ms. Warner's representative engagements include the following:
eDiscovery
- Managed all eDiscovery responsibilities for multiple matters including consulting with clients regarding preservation obligations, strategizing regarding document collection and processing, negotiating with opposing counsel and regulators to narrow scope of production, working with clients' Information Technology staff and custodians regarding document collection and preservation, and litigating forensic disputes, motions to compel, and inadvertent production.
- Created and presented CLE and other training sessions regarding eDiscovery topics to colleagues, clients, and others.
Internal Investigations
- Represented management of public companies in investigating alleged violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).
- Represented Special Litigation Committee of Board of Directors of Fortune 200 company investigating derivative complaints alleging insider trading, securities fraud, and allegations of financial fraud, including channel stuffing, improper revenue recognition, and improper reserves for liabilities.
- Represented Board of Directors of charitable organization investigating allegations that head of organization engaged in improper political activity.
- Represented a municipality in investigating allegations that agency head had sexually harassed employees and head of municipality’s Office of Compliance had influenced reporting of allegations.
Responding to Government Inquiries
- Represented public company in response to Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Department of Justice (DOJ) inquiries regarding allegations of securities fraud.
- Represented multiple state government departments and agencies in responding to federal grand jury inquiries.
Corporate Compliance
- Drafted Codes of Conduct and other related internal policies for corporate and non-profit clients.
- Drafted document management policies, retention schedules, and consulted regarding litigation readiness.
Complex Civil and Criminal Litigation
- Represented Trustee of trust created to resolve hundreds of channeled claims against bankrupt entity.
- Represented corporate client in mediating $200 million royalty dispute.
- Represented policyholder client in obtaining multi-million dollar settlement on eve of trial seeking insurance coverage for defense costs and damages incurred in defending against multiple class action lawsuits.
- Represented futures commission merchant in customer complaint suits in multiple jurisdictions alleging breach of fiduciary duty, common law and statutory fraud, and breach of contract.

Pro Bono Activities
Ms. Warner is committed to providing legal representation to individuals and organizations that cannot afford to hire legal assistance and is very active in pro bono matters. She currently represents, along with Northwestern University’s Center on Wrongful Convictions, an individual wrongfully convicted of arson. Ms. Warner acted as the co-chair of the firm's legal clinic run in connection with Chicago Volunteer Legal Services (CVLS) for a number of years and she remains an active volunteer providing legal services to indigent Chicago residents. Ms. Warner formerly served as an Executive Member of the Board of CVLS.
