Previous Experience
Prior to joining Schiff Hardin, Ms. Speed-Bost represented state and local regulatory bodies. Earlier in her legal career, from March 1997 until October 1998, she was the legal adviser for natural gas and oil pipeline matters to a FERC commissioner, where she advised on all matters related to the FERC's statutory obligations to regulate the transportation of natural gas and crude oil in interstate commerce.
From September 1990 until March 1997, she served as an advisory attorney in the FERC's Office of General Counsel, where she advised the FERC on matters relating to rates, terms and conditions of service for natural gas pipeline companies and intrastate pipeline companies under the Natural Gas Act and the Natural Gas Policy Act of 1978. Ms. Speed-Bost began her career as a trial attorney in the FERC's Enforcement Division, where she investigated regulatory and statutory violations involving natural gas pipeline companies and hydroelectric facilities, participated in administrative litigation and participated in settlement negotiations on behalf of the FERC.
