Alex P. Catalona has extensive experience managing toxic tort, product liability, and construction litigation for Fortune 500 companies. He also brings and defends lawsuits on behalf of national construction clients in payment disputes on major building projects. Mr. Catalona also represents clients involved in high-profile Internet litigation on issues ranging from online-defamation to anti-spam legislation, to First Amendment protections accorded to online speech.

- In 2010, obtained dismissal of organization's subpoena for the identity of client who made anonymous, and constitutionally protected, online communications regarding private information without revealing client's identity
- In 2009, negotiated for release of critical documents and IP addresses from California Internet service provider, Facebook, Inc., on behalf of "Facebook impersonation" victim in Jamaica, documents ultimately relevant to both civil liability and criminal charges investigated by Jamaican authorities
- Co-chaired product liability trial to defense verdict for client Owens-Illinois, Inc. on consumer expectation and failure to warn causes of action; the jury deadlocked on remaining negligence cause of action
- Won demurrer and summary judgment, then drafted winning appellate brief which ultimately led to a precedent-setting opinion on concert of action and multiple alternative liability theories frequently asserted against product manufacturers
- Won motion to quash service of process and dismissal of California litigation against Texas corporation sued in San Francisco Superior Court because company did not have minimum Constitutional contacts with California court
- Obtained dismissal without payment of settlement for national construction subcontractor sued in multimillion-dollar dispute over the construction of the Bellagio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada
- Won dismissals of lawsuits against non-California clients sued in several jurisdictions by California forum-shoppers on the ground of inconvenient forum
- Enforced Las Vegas arbitration of multimillion-dollar construction dispute resulting in favorable settlement for national electrical subcontractor
- Won dozens of dismissals across several jurisdictions by drafting and arguing motions for summary judgment, motions for summary adjudication, and other dispositive motions
