Jeffrey M. Bergman focuses his practice on general estate planning, including wills,
trusts, family partnerships and and other tools for wealth preservation,
charitable planning, and asset protection, as well as probate and estate
administration. He has particular experience in fiduciary income tax issues,
asset protection techniques for physicians and other professionals, and the use
of 529 plans and special purpose financial accounts in estate planning.
He also assists individuals, closely held businesses, and fiduciaries facing
a variety of tax and regulatory issues, including tax audits and litigation
relating to estate and transfer taxes, partnership and trust income taxation,
and reporting of foreign financial accounts.
Mr. Bergman has lectured on "Advanced Issues in Trusts and Estates" and
"Income Taxation of Trusts and Estates" at Northwestern University School of
Law.
