Partner
Shawn D. Parrish practices in the areas of antitrust and trade regulation, commercial litigation, and toxic torts. He regularly represents clients in cases involving allegations of price fixing, price manipulation, and monopolization. His experience includes antitrust and intellectual property cases in both state and federal courts.
He regularly tries cases to juries and arbitral panels.
He also serves as a member of Schiff Hardin's Diversity Committee and Professional Practice Committee.
Experience
- Defending the largest sightseeing operator in the Bay Area in a class action involving allegations that it fixed referral commissions
- Representing a manufacturer in a case against numerous suppliers for manipulating the index price of natural gas
- Representing a foreign manufacturer in a nationwide class action against allegations of price fixing involving the global market for an amino acid
- Defending a pharmaceutical buying organization against claims of alleged price fixing
- Representing a manufacturer in a monopolization counterclaim against a patent holder in a patent infringement case
- Obtained summary judgment and affirmation on appeal rejecting various conspiracy and vicarious liability theories against a glass manufacturer. These theories potentially affected a large number of claims against the company. See 125 Cal.App.4th 516 (2004).
