Paula M. Ketcham has a broad range of commercial litigation experience, with a concentration in the area of class action defense, as well as significant experience in the area of labor and employment litigation and counseling.
She has successfully briefed and argued appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and the Illinois Appellate Courts.
In the class action area, she:
- Has represented defendants in multi-state and nationwide class action lawsuits
- Has successfully litigated federal and state class action suits involving insurance coverage and claims practices, consumer fraud, conspiracy, and product liability
In the labor and employment area, she:
- Has successfully defended employers in employment discrimination class actions
- Has successfully represented management before various federal and state labor agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the Illinois Department of Human Rights and the Illinois Department of Labor
- Advises clients regarding federal contractor affirmative action obligations and assists contractors in preparing for compliance reviews and defending against enforcement action by the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP)
- Advises clients on matters arising under state and federal anti-discrimination laws and regulations
- Conducts training seminars for managers and supervisors on the issues of equal employment opportunity and workplace sexual harassment
