James R. Balich

James R. Balich is a trial attorney with extensive experience in complex commercial litigation including product liability, toxic torts, real estate and construction contracts, and construction defect matters.
He has tried many cases to verdict in federal and state courts in California, Nevada, Wyoming, and Texas. He also has successfully resolved numerous matters for clients through alternative dispute resolution procedures, including binding and non-binding arbitrations and mediations.
His significant litigation matters have involved companies in a wide range of industries and associated with a variety of products such as:
- Building materials and construction practices (concrete, windows, roofing and cladding materials, waterproofing and mold claims)
- Chemicals/minerals (asbestos, lead, mercury, sulfuric and nitric acids, and fluorine)
- Food and beverages (wines, juices, and miscellaneous food products)
- Glass and plastic containers (including products used in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries)
As part of his representation of defendants in asbestos and toxic torts matters, Mr. Balich has handled significant medical issues within these cases, including pathology, epidemiology, and medical diagnostic technology.
