Justice, Accountability and Social Reconstruction: An Interview Study of Bosnian Judges and Prosecutors, (Co-Author) University of California, Berkeley Human Rights Center and  International Human Rights Law Clinic (May 2000)

Pro Bono Activities

Ms. Babcock's pro bono representation of several Guatemalan women seeking asylum has given her valuable bench trial experience and earned her the 2006 Father Cuchulain Moriarty Award from the San Francisco Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights.

She serves as an arbitrator for the City of San Francisco's homeless shelter system.

Previous Experience

Before joining the firm in 2004, Ms. Babcock represented insurance carriers for three years as plaintiffs and defendants in coverage litigation throughout California and in several western states. As a junior associate, she developed her negotiation skills by settling numerous cases through mediation. She identified, retained and helped prepare expert witnesses for trial in a multimillion-dollar coverage action regarding the manufacture of hardboard siding products. Her investigation also resulted in the recovery of key documents and witnesses not revealed by opposing counsel.

During law school, Ms. Babcock interviewed judges and prosecutors in Bosnia and Herzegovina about their perceptions of the international war crimes tribunal for the former Yugoslavia.
