Charles ("Chip") H.R. Peters concentrates his practice in commercial litigation with a focus on issues related to technology companies.

Mr. Peters represented AT&T Wireless Services, Inc. and Claircom in a claim of misappropriation of trade secrets and other related business torts, culminating in a jury verdict in favor of his clients after a six-week trial and 10 years of litigation.

He also has represented businesses in trade secret litigation, including:

• The Thermos Company, a leading supplier of vacuum ware and outdoor living products
• Carlisle Memory Products Group, a manufacturer of computer information storage products
• Cook Inc., a major medical products supplier

Experience

• Representation of AT&T Corp. in numerous suits across the country asserting constitutional and statutory claims challenging the company's operation of a restricted access telephone system in government facilities
• Representation of Commonwealth Edison in an international arbitration over software development for the utility's operations management network
• Representation of AT&T Wireless in several class action lawsuits
• Representation of the Northern Trust Company in an alleged "whistleblower" case brought by a former senior officer
• Representation of the City of Chicago in a Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) suit against a former city contractor and its officers
• Representation of PepsiCo., Inc. in connection with several related lawsuits and Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings arising from a complex business fraud scenario

Mr. Peters also has represented several entities, including AT&T Wireless, Tropicana, and Georgia Marble, in matters related to the retention or termination of key employees and dealers.
