Amy M. Rubenstein handles a wide range of cases, such as general commercial and corporate disputes, reinsurance, intellectual property and federal constitutional law.
She is particularly well versed in discovery, motions, and other trial practice proceedings. Her work also includes discovery proceedings in Canada.
Ms. Rubenstein's extensive federal practice includes:
- Lead counsel in the jury trial of a partnership dispute in federal court
- Counsel on a multi-week federal class action bench trial involving constitutional rights
- Preliminary injunctive relief and temporary restraining orders
- Motion practice involving more than $50 million for a major corporate client
- Appellate briefs before the Seventh and Second Circuits
Ms. Rubenstein's reinsurance experience includes litigation and arbitration of issues such as:

Experience
- MJAC Consulting, Inc. v. Susan M. Barrett D/B/A Strategic Pharma Services, No. 04 Civ. 6078(WHP), 2006 WL 2051129 (S.D.N.Y. July 24, 2006) in which the court upheld a jury verdict in favor of her client against a motion for a new trial.
- Security Ins. Co of Hartford v. Trustmark Ins. Co., 221 F.R.D. 300 (D. Conn. 2003), in which she successfully defended her reinsurer client against an injunction to bring funds into the state for prejudgment attachment.
- Lurz, et al. v. Monahan, et al., No. 04 C 6307, 2006 WL 2349724 (N.D. Ill. Aug. 11, 2006), in which she was appointed to represent eight civilly committed individuals and successfully defended against a motion to dismiss their constitutional and other claims.
- Century 21 Real Estate Corp. v. Realty Plus Michiana et al., No. 3:04cv0321, 2006 WL 1544750 (N.D. Ind. June 1, 2006), in which summary judgment was granted in favor of her client on claims of trademark infringement and breach of franchise agreement.

Ms. Rubenstein was appointed by two federal judges to represent pro se plaintiffs' constitutional claims.
In 2008, Ms. Rubenstein was honored for excellence in pro bono and public interest service by the judges of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the Chicago Chapter of the Federal Bar Association.
