Fair Measure: Toward Effective Attorney Evaluations

Patricia Costello Slovak, a partner in Schiff Hardin's Labor and Employment Group, will speak at the American Bar Association Annual Meeting. Ms. Slovak's session is "Fair Measure: Toward Effective Attorney Evaluations."

This panel will provide a guide to implement and conduct an evaluation program with unbiased evaluations and will discuss raising evaluators' consciousness of the various ways that gender bias can impact performance reviews. The panel also will discuss sample checklists and evaluation forms. Although the panel's discussion will be generally geared to gender bias in evaluating attorneys, it can be universally applied to other under-represented groups and other professionals.

The meeting will be held August 7-12 in New York City. Ms. Slovak's session will take place in the Conrad Suite on the 4th floor of the Waldorf Astoria.
